On August 7, 2019, the "2019 Training Course on the Differential Diagnosis and Prevention and Control of Malaria and Schistosomiasis in African Countries" under the Belt and Road Initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the Jiangsu Institute of Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control (Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Disease Prevention and Control), was officially held. On August 19, trainees received training on "Schistosomiasis Etiological Diagnosis Technology" at the Jiangsu Institute of Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control. As a collaborative partner of the Jiangsu Institute of Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control in production, education, and research, QT BIO's senior R&D engineers and market managers provided technical explanations and experimental demonstrations for this training.

The Jiangsu Institute of Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control is an international training base for tropical disease prevention and control technology recognized by the Ministry of Commerce. In recent years, it has successfully held six training courses on malaria prevention and control technology for African countries, training 169 professional and technical personnel from 43 developing countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Last year, the institute also organized experts to hold malaria prevention and control technology training courses in Senegal and Uganda, training more than 180 health officials and health technicians in the two countries.

This training course attracted many participants from African countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including Uganda, Ghana, South Sudan, Liberia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Zanzibar, and Gambia, with most being local teachers and doctors. Through lectures, discussions, experimental demonstrations, and field visits, QT BIO comprehensively, systematically, and thoroughly demonstrated the application of RAA technology in schistosomiasis detection. The speed, sensitivity, specificity, and portability of RAA technology left a deep impression on the trainees, who showed great interest in the technology and conducted hands-on operations.

This training allowed disease control personnel from countries along the Belt and Road Initiative to deeply understand the advantages of RAA technology in parasitic disease detection, expanding the scope of China's RAA technology output. It enabled countries along the Belt and Road Initiative to learn about China, gain knowledge, and foster friendship, laying a solid foundation for deeper technical cooperation in the future. QT BIO will also launch more disease detection products suitable for countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, in line with the needs of the Belt and Road Initiative national strategy.
