Malaria is one of the globally significant vector-borne infectious diseases that severely threaten human health, affecting more than 90 countries and regions worldwide, primarily in tropical and subtropical areas. Over half of the world's population lives in malaria-endemic zones. According to statistics, malaria infects tens of millions of people each year—among them, as many as 500,000 children under the age of 5 die annually from the disease in Africa alone, making it one of the most critical global public health challenges. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential for effectively controlling and preventing malaria.
